Hamburg-based developer and property owner ECE has started construction on the fourth logistics centre in a nine-shed contract for logistics service provider Hermes Germany.
Both ECE and Hermes Germany are investing €600 mln in the shed portfolio, which will be completed in its entirety by 2019.
The Mayor of Graben and Hermes Germany's managing director operations Dirk Rahn led the ground-breaking of the €40 mln project in the Graben industrial park near Augsburg.
Work on other logistics centres is already underway at locations in Bad Rappenau near Heilbronn, Ketzin near Berlin, and Mainz. Further projects will be launched at locations in Cologne, Hamburg, Dresden, Halle/Leipzig, and in the Münster-Osnabrück region.
The Graben facility comprises 9,000 m2 of warehouse space with adjacent offices, technical facilities, and social areas of approximately 2,500 m2.
Across the whole contract, ECE is responsible for the entire development process, from selection and acquisition of the plot, planning to turnkey development, as well as selling it on to the investor.
