Martin Eberhardt has been appointed managing director of German investment and asset manager Corpus Sireo Real Estate, part of Swiss Life Asset Managers, as of 15 May 2018.
Eberhardt will be in charge of the companies’ entire asset and property management business, as well as assuming the role of managing director at Swiss Life Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft (KVG). The 53-year old real estate professional joins from Bouwfonds Investment Management.
'In Martin Eberhardt, we are bringing on board a very experienced funds and real estate manager, who takes on his position at Corpus Sireo with many years of international experience in the business,' commented Ralph Günther, chairman of the board of Corpus Sireo. 'He has a deep understanding of the entire real estate value chain – especially in corporate real estate, an understanding he gained in previous positions.'
In his new role, Eberhardt will be in charge of the companies’ largest division, asset and property management, as member of the executive committee. In his position on the management board at Swiss Life KVG, he will cover economic aspects relating to real estate, as well as fund management.
Eberhardt's most recent role was country manager for Bouwfonds Investment Management Deutschland GmbH in Berlin, a position he took up in 2011. He subsequently took on the role of managing director for client relations in Hoevelaken for the Dutch parent company, part of financial group Rabobank. Earlier this week Bouwfonds IM announced a major shake-up of its activities, involving the disposal of €4 bn of its assets.
Eberhardt's previous positions included a stint at Union Investment's real estate division, chiefly as managing director, as well as roles at Colliers, Metro and Daimler-Benz.
