Like a host of other real estate fairs in countries around Europe, the Provada in Amsterdam is making increasing efforts to attract a foreign audience. Visitors from at least 11 countries are expected to attend the three-day event that opened in the RAI conference centre in the Dutch capital on Monday. The programme includes a masterclass in international business, presented by PropertyEU in cooperation with the Urban Land Institute. Tuesday also features a session on the various real estate investment trust (REIT) vehicles in Europe, as well as a symposium on Germany hosted by ING Real Estate Finance.

The Provada's John Kerkhoven said some 14,000 visitors are expected to attend the fair this year. Although the vast majority are Dutch, the number of foreign attendees - particularly from Germany - has grown considerably. About 400 property professionals are coming from outside the Netherlands, he said.
