Dutch architect company EEA has been awarded new project in London's Canning Town and a mixed-use project in Metz, France, as its founder Erick van Egeraat has won two architectural awards for the projects in Hungary.
In London, Erick van Egeraat has started to work on a new urban revitalisation scheme for Canning Town in the Borough of Newham. The area lies south of the development site for the Olympic Games 2012. In France, the architect was selected by a consortium led by Dutch-based ING RE to develop a plot in the Quartier de l'Amphitheatre in Metz.
Meanwhile, Van Egeraat has become the first foreigner to be awarded the 'For Budapest' award in recognition of his architectural services to the city. The architect has also been awarded the ‘Reitter Ferenc Priza 2006’ by the local government and the Association of Hungarian architects for his refurbishment project in the Deak Palota development.
EEA has been involved in about 100 projects in Europe over the last 25 years. Van Egeraat's works include the Dutch embassy in Warsaw, the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, and the Milanofiori centre in Milan, which provides a 218,000 m2 lettable area mainly for commercial use on a 360,000 m2 site.
