A group of investors from Dubai has taken a 36% stake in International Campus, a Munich-based specialist in student residences.
International Campus did not reveal the financial details of the transaction or the identity of the investors.
The student housing developer did say, however, that the group is prepared to make further investments to support the growth of International Campus.
Horst Lieder, CEO of International Campus: 'We have found some active and experienced capital partners with whom we will build up our own portfolio of modern student accommodations and consequently continue to grow.'
The initial investment was arranged by Alcazar Capital, a firm based in Dubai that advises on 'specialty infrastructure'.
In January, International Campus announced the start of a student housing project named The Fizz Frankfurt. The scheme will offer 390 apartments in Frankfurt am Main. The company is developing similar projects in Freiburg/ Breisgau, Bayreuth and Berlin.
The Fizz Bremen has been operating since the 2012/2013 winter semester. Further acquisitions and developments are in the pipeline.
