Global real estate consultant DTZ said on Tuesday it has sealed the largest office leasing transactions in the Czech Republic so far this year with the letting of around 13,000 m2 of office space to Germany's energy group RWE and the Czech IT company ICZ.
RWE Internal Services leased 5,900 m2 of office space in Building C of Prosek Point in Prague 9, while ICZ moved to around 7,200 m2 of office space at Kavci Hory Office Park near the metro station Prazske povstani.
'RWE confirmed our expectations last year, that mainly large corporations are starting to seek new facilities well in advance. The selection of a suitable building and the subsequent negotiations lasted nearly a year,' said Vaclav Boucek, head of the tenant representation services at DTZ in Prague.
The transactions represent over 50% of total net take-up (excluding renegotiations) in the third quarter of 2009.
This is the second lease transaction in the short term that DTZ has mediated on behalf of RWE. In the second quarter of this year RWE Transgas Net leased nearly 5,000 m2 in Kavci Hory Office Park.
