Global real estate adviser DTZ has announced the appointment of Menno Maas to the role of CEO for Continental Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA). Maas, formerly boss of ING Real Estate Development, will be responsible for DTZ's operations across 24 CEMEA markets.
Global real estate adviser DTZ has announced the appointment of Menno Maas to the role of CEO for Continental Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA). Maas, formerly boss of ING Real Estate Development, will be responsible for DTZ's operations across 24 CEMEA markets.
The region contributed over 25% to DTZ Group revenues for the six months to end-October 2009.
Based in The Netherlands, Maas will join the business, and the DTZ Executive Committee, reporting to Paul Idzik, Group CEO on 1 June 2010.
Maas brings over 25 years property sector experience to DTZ. Under his management, ING RED grew into a European market leader with a EUR 9 bn development portfolio across 10 countries in Europe. Between 2008 and early 2010, when he left the company, Menno led the restructuring and integration of this business into ING Wholesale Banking.
Between 2000 and 2006, Menno was managing director of Amvest, a leading Dutch real estate investment fund with over EUR 3 bn in property investments.
Previous experience includes project, acquisition and portfolio roles at PGGM, the leading Dutch pension fund, and ABN AMRO Project Development.
