Paul Idzik, chief operating officer of Barclays bank until May this year, has been appointed the new group chief executive of property consultant DTZ, replacing Mark Struckett who said in June that he planned to step down from the board.
Idzik, an American and former management consultant, left Barclays after four years in the role of chief operating officer amid speculation of boardroom tensions between CEO John Varley and Bob Diamond, president of Barclays and head of its investment banking arm.
Struckett has been DTZ's chief executive since 1994. He will stay on with the firm in an advisory capacity following his departure.
