Germany's DLE Group, a land development specialist, has appointed Lars Meisinger as CEO and chairman of the executive board as of 1 May.
Meisinger succeeds Yolanda Schmidtke, who co-founded the company with Rainer Schorr in 2016.
At her own request, Schmidtke will leave the board by the end of June to pursue new challenges but will remain connected to the company as its second-largest shareholder and as an advisor.
Meisinger has more than 25 years of experience in the financial sector and joins DLE from Hamburg-based asset management company Aquila Capital, where he had been leading and managing the international client advisory and corporate development unit since 2016.
Throughout his career, Meisinger held senior roles at UBS Asset Management, BlackRock Alternative Investors, Man Group, and AXA Investment Managers, both in Germany and internationally.
As CEO of DLE Group, he will oversee strategic corporate development and management, sales, communications, and human resources.
Said Meisinger: 'I am looking forward to leading DLE Group AG into the next phase of its development with the entire team.
'Our company is strongly established in future-oriented- and socially relevant sectors of the real estate market.
'With a solid financial base and a clear strategy to increase value for our investors, we are well equipped to succeed even in a challenging market environment. Additionally, we plan to significantly grow our international client base.'
Christian Angermayer, owner of Apeiron Investment Group, the new majority shareholder in DLE Group added: 'The German real estate market is one of the most important global asset classes, and after some challenging years, we expect a turnaround by 2025 at the latest.
'We are convinced that in Lars Meisinger we have found the ideal CEO to lead DLE Group AG from its stable situation to further growth and to take advantage of the current market opportunities.'
As part of the management changes, Alexander Fröse is also stepping down from the management board at his own request to focus on his activities as managing partner of DLE Living and to develop further senior living strategies for DLE.
