Dutch company Diamonda announced on Tuesday at the EXPO REAL fair in Munich that it has signed an agreement to develop an entertainment theme park at Airport Weeze in western Germany. The Diamonda theme park will involve an investment of EUR 750 mln. Developers are the Dutch building firms Ballast Nedam and AB Architectuur & Bouwkunde.

Diamonda said in a statement that the local authorities will support the initiative by investing in infrastructure in the region. Construction, involving an area of 40 hectares, is planned to start in the first quarter of 2009.
