CB Richard Ellis said it has secured the leasehold interest on behalf of DHL Supply Chain for a new purpose built warehouse facility in Bornem, near Brussels in what the property adviser says is a huge boost to the Belgian warehouse market.
CB Richard Ellis said it has secured the leasehold interest on behalf of DHL Supply Chain for a new purpose built warehouse facility in Bornem, near Brussels in what the property adviser says is a huge boost to the Belgian warehouse market.
The facility, which will be developed by the Belgian based developer De Paepe Group on their Maritime Logistics Park, will total approximately 36,500 m2 and will be divided into 2 units of approximately 22,350 m2 and 14,150 m2 respectively. The first phase will be completed in Autumn 2010.
There is considerable expansion capability which allows the potential for future growth in support of DHL's campus strategy,.
CB Richard Ellis advised DHL Property Solutions in the transaction and according to Guy Frampton, head of European Industrial and Logistics at CB Richard Ellis: 'This is an important deal in a European context and demonstrates considerable occupier confidence in an uncertain market. This transaction is the largest since the recently signed exclusivity agreement between CBRE and the UK office of DHL Real Estate to support the growth agenda of DHL Supply Chain throughout Europe.'
