His previous experience also includes five years as CFO of Brockton Capital and seven years as head of fund reporting at Doughty Hanson. He began his career with roles at Mace Group, AXA Investment Managers and UBS Private Equity.

Frank Roccogrande, co-founder and co-managing partner at DFI said: 'This is a very important time for DFI as we continue to execute our strategy for growth, a key part of which is ensuring we attract and retain the very best talent.

'The combination of Ben’s wealth of industry experience and his personality are perfectly aligned to DFI’s own ambitions and culture and we look forward to working with him to achieve our goals.'

McComb's appointment is the eighth new hire DFI has made within the last 12 months and brings the size of its team to 22 in total operating across offices in London, Munich and Madrid.

McComb added: 'The challenges currently faced by the real estate sector present opportunities for entrepreneurial firms like DFI to act quickly and decisively to create value on behalf of investors. DFI is well placed to take advantage of these opportunities and I look forward to working closely with the team as it continues to grow and evolve its business.'

Since 2017, DFI has committed to over €2 bn of value-add and opportunistic investments across six markets in Europe, including London’s Olympia Exhibition Centre.
