Delegates attending the Mapic retail real estate fair in Cannes in November will have a say in picking the winners of the Mapic Awards. The organisers have announced that a new dimension has been added to the retail awards, with the votes in a 'plebiscite of the delegate' being added to the professional jury's choice.
Mapic Awards entrants will compete in four categories: best retail expansion; best retailer in city centre; best new retail concept and best retail development.
Entrants can submit their brand or project free of charge before 15 September at http://www.mipim.com/en/mapic/programme/mapic-awards/
Lego Retail Stores won the best new retail concept award at MAPIC 2010.
Justin Tripp, vice president Lego Retail Stores (USA) commented recently: 'Winning a MAPIC Award in 2010 was a great achievement for Lego company. Winning the award meant that I had to field a lot of calls from landlords and brokers who were interested in getting us into their properties. There were other benefits in terms of industry recognition and opportunities to develop our network, not only for real estate, but also in terms of construction and design.'
Mapic takes place from 16-18 November at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.
