Deka Immobilien has acquired an office complex in Dusseldorf in its second big-ticket transaction in Germany this week.

The German fund manager acquired the two-building Hafenspitze Dusseldorf complex for an investment volume of about €100 mln. The 21,400 m2 asset is being added to the portfolio of the Deka-Immobilien Global open-ended real estate fund. The vendor was project company Hafenspitze.

Hafenspitze Dusseldorf is located directly on the Rhine in Düsseldorf's Media Harbour and has easy access to public transport. The complex has been awarded the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB)'s Silver certificate.

On 8 January, Deka announced it had signed a preliminary agreement to acquire the Neumarkt Galerie shopping centre in Cologne from a property company managed by the Irish-German group Signature Capital. The purchase price is in the region of €295 mln.

The 37,000 m2 building, located in the centre of the city, is currently undergoing comprehensive refurbishing, due for completion later in 2014. The vendor was advised by Jones Lang LaSalle; the purchaser by CB Richard Ellis.
