German property investor Deka Immobilien said it had acquired the Forum Shopping Centre in Gliwice, Poland, for around EUR 128 mln. Deka said it bought the property from the Irish property group Quinlan Private and Norwegian conglomerate Borgestad Group. Deka said the Forum shopping centre is its sixth investment in Poland.

Deka said it bought the property from the Irish property group Quinlan Private and Norwegian conglomerate Borgestad Group. Deka said the Forum shopping centre is its sixth investment in Poland.

Gliwice, located in the Upper Silesia region, has a metropolitan population of 2.3 million. The 43,000 m2 shopping centre was opened in June 2007 and has 132 retail units and 1,000 parking spaces. It includes a 6,500-m2 Carrefour hypermarket and a 15-screen cinema. Retail tenants include H&M, New Yorker, Benetton and Inditex, the Spanish fashion company whose brands include Zara, Pull & Bear and Bershka. Forum is currently over 90% rented.

Forum was developed for Quinlan Private and Borgestad by Quinlan Private Golub and Danish developer Braaten & Pedersen. Quinlan Private Golub is a joint venture of Quinlan Private and Golub & Company, a Chicago-based real estate developer and investment company.
