Italian asset manager Dea Capital has recruited Freo's French head Emanuele Dubini to lead its new activities in the country.
Based in Paris, Dubini will head the group's new European platform known as Dea Capital Real Estate France. The unit represents a joint venture between the Dea Capital Group which holds 70% and the company's senior management team.
The new platform, which will be chaired by Emanuele Caniggia, currently CEO of the Italian asset management unit, will focus on opportunistic, value-add and core plus strategies on behalf of the group as well as on behalf of the group's institutional clients.
Dubini has nearly 30 years of experience in the industry having previously been head of Freo France as well as managing director for GE Capital Real Estate South of Europe, France, Italy and Spain for real estate and lending activity.
Prior to that he headed the Italian capital markets team at BNP Paribas Real Estate and BNL Fondi Immobiliari. Earlier in his career he was managing director of asset management and board member of selected joint ventures between Pirelli Re and Morgan Stanley at Pirelli Italy.
'Dea Capital is today the largest alternative asset manager in Italy with over 450 local and international clients [and €11.2 bn of assets under management],' said Dea Capital's CEO Paolo Ceretti.
