A forward-funding deal for Europaplads 6-8 in Aarhus in Denmark has become available for around €110 mln.
It is understood local developer Finn Bach Petersen has appointed CBRE as advisor on the transaction.
Europaplads 6-8 is located on Aarhus’s harbourside and boasts 18,000 m2 of space.
Finn Bach Petersen originally proposed an 18-storey high rise building, however, Aarhus city councillors have limited the property to 8 floors.
Upon completion, the forward-funded development will see users make use of the waterfront views and quick city access. The area has been in redevelopment since 2014, with it since becoming one of Europe's most developed harbourfront projects.
Aarhus, Denmark’s second largest city after Copenhagen, originally used the waterfront as a port. However, the vision to connect the bay coherently with the city secured extensive development plans which will welcome 12,000 new residents and 10,000 workplaces.
The overall floorspace for the harbour area covers 800,000 m2.
Other well-known projects within the neighbourhood include The Iceberg residential building funded by PensionDanmark and BIG’s project Aar.
The Europaplads 6-8 development is expected to reach its final stages in 2023.
