D2 Private, an investor in London's property market, is said to be considering a flotation of a new £1 bn (EUR 1.47 bn) fund. The investor is currently in talks with potential advisers to launch a real estate fund which could either be private or listed as a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), the Financial Times has reported. The fund would have a target of a total of £1bn in assets.

The financial daily newspaper said the Irish company is planning to open new offices in London and is likely to start investing in continental Europe in the coming months. D2, which was launched only 18 months ago, has said its portfolio will grow to £5bn in the next three years. The company is led by Irish developer David Arnold and former Quinlan Private executive Deirdre Foley.
