The Fortress House, located in the West End, was designed by architect Eric Parry. In a statement, D2 Private said that it will re-develop the property in a six-storey scheme comprising 8,361 m2 of offices and 650 m2 of retail space. The property will be available for letting in early 2009.
Property advisor CB Richard Ellis acted for the vendor and DTZ has been appointed as letting agents.
D2 Private's ceo Deirdre Foley told Property Week that 'the Fortress House is a high-quality addition to our close to EUR 1.5 bn portfolio of iconic London buildings, including Woolgate Exchange, and the Marks & Spencer headquarters in Paddington.'
