Sweden's largest listed residential landlord D. Carnegie & Co is selling its holdings in Gothenburg for SEK 493 mln (€52 mln) in order to focus on the Stockholm area.

D. Carnegie & Co has agreed to sell the assets to Gothenburg's public housing association Bostadsbolaget.

The portfolio is located in the Hammarkullen residential area of Sweden's second largest city and comprises 890 apartments with a lettable area of 65,000 m2.

'The sale is part of our focus on owning residential properties in the greater Stockholm area, or in cities within commuting distance from the capital. We are also pleased to have found a buyer who has the ambition to continue the development of Hammarkullen,' said Ulf Nilsson, CEO of D. Carnegie & Co.

Closing of the deal is scheduled for 1 February 2016.

D. Carnegie & Co owns and manages 15,000 apartments concentrated in the Stockholm region. Bostadsbolaget owns more than 23,000 flats, making it one of Sweden’s biggest public housing companies.
