Cushman & Wakefield Hotels has announced the appointment of specialist hotel teams lured from KPMG in London and from CB Richard Ellis in Prague. Nick Pattie, head of London-based KPMG hospitality and leisure advisory services, is joining C & W Hotels as managing director. He brings with him Philip Camble who will join as a director and Paul Thomas who joins as an associate director.

'The team brings a depth of consultancy experience in supporting more than £4 bn (EUR 5.9 bn) of hotel transactions as well as resort business development throughout Europe and the Middle East,' C & W Hotels said in a statement. The team was instrumental in the recent acquisition of a portfolio of seven InterContinental Hotels for $440 mln.

In Prague, C&W Hotels has recruited CB Richard Ellis's Central & Eastern European Hotels team. Stewart Coggans will join as a director – Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) along with Frederic Le Fichoux who will join as a senior analyst. The CBRE team specialises in transactions and advised on high profile successful schemes such as the acquisition of the Hilton Prague and IBIS Carlton for EUR 145 mln, the statement said.

The five appointments bring the total number of staff in C&W Hotels EMEA to 20 and follow the recent recruitment of Joel Goldman, director and John McGuinness, director Spa & Leisure, who both joined in January. Both are based at Cushman & Wakefield Hotels' London headquarters. John McGuinness' addition brings to the team a new area of expertise, Spa and Leisure services, C & W Hotels said.

The hotels sector is a strategically important area and these appointments position Cushman & Wakefield Hotels 'at the forefront of hotel consultancy and agency throughout EMEA,' according to the statement.
