Robb, a healthcare specialist, has worked in the sector for nearly 20 years. He has been involved in some of the largest advisory projects in the industry, such as Formation Capital’s purchase of NHP and Omega Healthcare’s investment in Healthcare Homes.

More recently, he acted for CareTech and RBS in connection with CareTech’s innovative ground rent transaction with Alpha Real.

Recent capital inflows into UK healthcare, via the US REITs in particular, and a more competitive landscape amongst established UK funds and institutions has rapidly established healthcare as a recognised property investment class in its own right.

Charles Smith, head of Valuation & Advisory UK, Cushman & Wakefield, added: 'Martin’s impressive experience in the healthcare sector will be of enormous benefit to our business. We valued more than £18 bn worth of alternative investments last year and as the UK’s leading valuation and advisory team are well placed to grow that considerably.'

Robb is the latest senior recruit into Cushman & Wakefield’s Valuation & Advisory business, following Carl Ridgley who joined as a director in the hospitality team earlier in the month.
