European logistics developer and operator CTP has announced its first new construction project in Germany.
The company has acquired a 59,600 m2 brownfield site in Bremen on which it will develop 28,700 m2 of logistics space.
Intensive demolition and processing work will be carried out on the former landfill site before construction work begins.
The property will have several sustainable features, including a photovoltaic system on the building's roof for onsite energy and modern source heat pumps for heating the building.
Thanks to these measures, the building expects to achieve the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) Gold certification.
Timo Hielscher, managing director West of CTP Germany, commented: ‘In Bremen, our team is currently developing the first new building for CTP in Germany - a milestone with great significance. We are confident that we are providing our future tenants with a logistics property that will fully meet their needs in terms of connectivity, amenities and sustainability.’
The property is located directly at the A27/A1 freeway intersection, providing quick transport links to Bremen city center, the northeast and the west of Germany.
CTP’s strategy foresees the revitalization of brownfield sites to counteract the ongoing sealing of land and provide urgently needed space for production, industry, logistics and trade.
