UK real estate businesses, The Crown Estate, has announced that Kate Bowyer will be joining the company this autumn as chief financial officer.
Bowyer joins from FTSE 100 company, Intu Properties, where she was director of finance and a member of the executive committee for the company's £9.6 bn (€12.5 bn) retail and leisure property business.
The Crown Estate’s investment strategy across its £11 bn portfolio focuses on four core sectors: central London, where it owns Regent Street and about 50% of St James’s; a leading UK portfolio of prime retail and leisure assets; rural and strategic land; and as manager of the UK seabed, offshore wind.
As chief financial officer for The Crown Estate, she will work closely with the CEO Alison Nimmo, and the wider executive committee, to determine the business’s strategic and commercial agenda.
She joined Intu Properties (previously Capital Shopping Centres Group) in 2000 as group financial controller, before serving as head of investor relations, business relations director and then director of finance since August 2014.
