Crosslane Dutch Developments, part of UK development firm Crosslane, is aiming to build a portfolio of 2,500 beds in the Netherlands over the next five years.
The company said it has committed 'significant' investment into a secured and growing pipeline of student accommodation development opportunities and will announce later this month its first two student accommodation developments.
It is targeting key cities including Amsterdam, Delft, Den Haag, Eindhoven, Groningen, Leiden, Maastricht, Nijmegen, Rotterdam and Utrecht.
'Since establishing a presence in the Netherlands over one year ago, we have been laying the groundwork and gearing up to capitalise on the exciting pipeline of investment opportunities in the Dutch market,' said Olaf Henschen, managing director of Crosslane Dutch Developments.
The company has just appointed Lee Pors (27) as researcher/project developer. Pors will undertake in-depth market analysis, provide transaction support and will be responsible for advising on all elements of the purchase, development and leasing of student housing developments in the Netherlands for Crosslane. Previously, he worked in the real estate portfolio management division at the Central Government Real Estate Company in The Hague and as project developer at Houwvast Project Development.
Crosslane develops student accommodation for acquisition both by investment funds managed by the Crosslane Group as well as by third parties. It also has its own established pan-European lettings and operational platform, called Prime Student Living, to manage completed developments.
In the UK, Crosslane has a substantial development pipeline of over 2,200 beds while Prime Student Living currently operates 15 student accommodation properties, managing 2,987 rooms in 12 major university cities throughout the UK and Germany.
