Former chief executive of UK regeneration specalist Places for People, David Cowans, will be joining the Regis Group as a senior strategic advisor.
Cowans is expected to advise the Regis Group on its new initiatives, with a particular focus on affordable housing.
The residential veteran oversaw the transformation of North British Housing into the Places for People Group; a landlord of 219,000 homes and 100 leisure facilities, with a turnover of £827 mln (€1 bn), and over 10,000 employees.
Announcing Cowans’ appointment, Regis founder and executive chairman Nick Gould said: 'I am delighted David will be joining Regis as a senior strategic advisor. He is uniquely qualified to support us with the development of new ideas and platforms in the coming years.
'David’s appointment reflects our desire to continue to develop new ESG-oriented real estate platforms. David has a record of delivering commercially with substantial social impact and challenging the status quo.
'This experience reflects our own track record of value creation in non-traditional real estate asset classes.'
