European real estate operator Covivio has inked a deal with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company, to launch two new Ramada by Wyndham hotels in Spain.
The new properties, both owned by Covivio subsidiary Covivio Hotels, are managed by Hotel Collection International. The hotels will launch as Ramada by Wyndham Madrid Tres Cantos and Ramada by Wyndham Valencia Almussafes, in Madrid and Valencia, respectively.
Ramada by Wyndham Valencia Almussafes will open its doors on 1 July, following a complete renovation to take into account both Spanish government and Wyndham group health protocols.
The 133-room hotel features a gym, outdoor swimming pool and on-site restaurant and bar, plus three meeting rooms.
Ramada by Wyndham Madrid Tres Cantos is still under development in North Madrid and is scheduled to open in September. The 61-room hotel includes a fitness centre, snack bar and three meeting rooms.
Wyndham entered the Spanish market only last year, with the launch of Ramada by Wyndham Madrid Getafe. It also has hotels in other key European markets including Portugal, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Germany, Belgium, the UK and the Netherlands.
Christian Michel, vice president of development for Europe at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said: 'We are extremely pleased with Ramada by Wyndham’s steady growth in Spain and with our continued relationship with Hotel Collection International and Covivio.
'These latest additions in Madrid and Valencia will enable us to further drive our overall mission of making hotel travel possible for all, as well as offer all travellers more options in two sought-after travel destinations.'
