Sama Investment Group, a Birmingham-based developer and investor, has gained approval for a 130-bed student housing scheme in Coventry from the city council.
The plans for the development, known as Charter House, will see a brownfield industrial site on the edge of the city transformed into a student housing complex with a range of amenities including study areas, lounges, and a gym.
The project, featuring renewable energy technologies, is targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating.
Located close to Coventry University campus, the site had been identified as a strategic location to benefit from student-led regeneration and investment.
Bilal Ahmed, executive chairman & founder at Sama Investments, said: ‘We’re delighted to be granted planning approval for Charter House. As a brownfield site close to Coventry University, this is a fantastic opportunity to deliver a high-quality student accommodation scheme which will add real value to the city, supporting our growing educational institutions and meeting the increasing demand for student beds.’
