Corpus Sireo, Swiss Life’s German asset managment arm, completed €3.3 bn of property transactions in 2015, according to figures published by the company on Wednesday.
The total deal volume comprised €1.8 bn of acquisitions and €1.5 bn in sales. Swiss Life said its performance reflected low capital market rates and ´ongoing good´ sentiment in the German investment market.
Major purchases included the Stella portfolio of 26 office properties for €370 mln, the White Tower hotel project in Munich and the Ostseepark shopping centre in Rostock. Corpus Sireo also acquired the Neuer Dovenhof office building in Hamburg in its first cross-border deal with French stablemate Swiss Life REIM.
Cologne-based Corpus Sireo also made strong inroads in the growing healthcare sector in 2015, launching a third specialist fund and acquiring five properties, as it pursues a target investment volume of €1 bn.
Altogether Swiss Life’s companies in Switzerland, France and Germany completed €10 bn of real estate transactions in 2015.
Ingo Hartlief, COO, of Corpus Sireo, said: 'For our national and international customers, we will continue to look for major portfolios and attractive individual properties throughout Europe in 2016. We are particularly interested at present in the asset-classes office, healthcare, retail and hotel. In the case of attractive portfolios, CORPUS SIREO could also act as a co-investor.'

Swiss Life Group appears in 13th place in PropertyEU's Top 100 Investors ranking published in March 2016. The ranking is based on 2015 real estate transaction volumes in Europe and features an extended profile of Corpus Sireo.
The ranking was drawn up before Swiss Life could report its final figures, and the group owes its position based on €5.3 bn of transactions. The full volume of €10 which was announced on the day the publication went to press would have catapulted Swiss Life into 3rd position in the ranking.
