Around 500 senior corporate real estate professionals from Europe, Middle East, Africa and other global regions are expected to head to Berlin next week for the annual CoreNet Global EMEA Summit.
Attendance figures are expected to equal those of last year’s event in Amsterdam, which saw the largest delegate attendance ever for a CoreNet Global Summit held in Continental Europe.
The 2014 Summit, which this year takes the theme 'Changing the Conversation from Cost to Value', also marks the second time that CoreNet Global has held its European event in Berlin, having first hosted a summit in the German capital back in 2008.
RESEARCH
Ahead of the event, CoreNet Global released the results of a survey gauging views on economic development in Europe. The survey was conducted among corporate real estate managers based in Europe.
Preliminary results reveal that more than 76% of those surveyed regard a flexible working environment as a primary factor expected to significantly impact office space demand in the short to medium term. Other significant factors include technological innovations (60.5%) and the recovery of the global economy (55.3%).
Only around 15%of those surveyed thought that sustainability and improvements to energy efficiency were expected to be significant factors impacting office space demand in future.
The survey also found that political stability, macroeconomic performance of a country and the availability of skilled labour were among the most important factors corporate real estate managers consider during the site selection process. More than 60% said that geopolitical unrest affects corporate decision-making.
CoreNet Global will continue to poll members on workplace-related topics throughout the summit.
The CoreNet Global EMEA Summit will take place on 15-17 September at Berlin InterContinental. Click here for more information on the event and registration
