Investment manager Cordea Savills has appointed Giuseppe Oriani as managing director of its Italian subsidiary based in Milan.

The appointment is in line with Cordea Savills’ strategy to grow its business in this market.

Oriani has been appointed managing director of Cordea Savills SGR which is regulated by the Bank of Italy and in which he has acquired a minority stake.

He will develop new business initiatives in Italy as part of the Cordea Savills Group strategy and will also be responsible for investor relationships for existing Italian funds.

Prior to joining Cordea Savills, Oriani was at Hideal Partners where he was a founding partner of the firm formed as a result of a management buyout of a portfolio of European real estate and infrastructure activities from Babcock & Brown.

Over a two-and-a-half year period, Oriani led and completed more than 14 M&A transactions for Hideal involving the sale of assets in Italy, Greece, Germany and the UK.

In another appointment, Pierluigi Solitario has joined Cordea Savills SGR as director of business development and will support Oriani in expanding the business.

Solitario also joins Cordea Savills from Hideal Partners where he was a senior financial advisor for infrastructure projects, renewable energy assets and the telecommunications industry, responsible for deal origination, structuring, negotiation and execution.

Both men join the existing SGR management team with Justin O’Connor as chairman, Salvatore Ruoppolo as head of investment, Paola Fiorini as COO and Cristiano Ronchi as director of investment.
