Gruppo Basso's subsidiary Lefim has begun construction of its EUR 80 mln Roncade Outlet Gallery near the Italian city of Venice. Roncade will be the first outlet centre in Italy's Veneto region.
Designed by London architecture studio Chapman Taylor, the scheme will include a large gallery with 80 shops distributed over 18,000 m2 of retail space. The development, managed by Pantheon Retail, is based on the renovation of a former industrial property. Completion is scheduled for April 2008. The site allows for the expansion of the outlet centre with an additional 25,000 m2 of retail, Pantheon Retail's managing director James Hoddell said.
