Expanding in London

Nicholas Hill has been appointed to the institutional sales team, and, subject to the relevant regulatory approvals, will oversee the expansion of the international client base.

Nicole Arnold, member of the board of management of Commerz Real, said: 'Given the international significance of London as one of the major global financial centres, we are now taking a further step forward in the implementation of our international growth strategy.'

With the move the asset manager of Germany's Commerzbank intends to bring its real estate and renewable-energy expertise closer to British and international institutional clients, and to offer them customised investment structures via funds, clubs and individual mandates locally.

Hill has some 25 years’ experience in the investment sector, including years of expertise in relationship management and product development in real assets for the institutional sector.

Prior to joining Commerz Real, he worked from 2013 to 2021 as investor services director (UK) and business development manager (EMEA) for CBRE Investment Management, ultimately co-leading the UK sales activities.

Following CBRE he led the London office of Optimum Asset Management. Other stages of his professional career have included Aviva Investors, Matrix Group and Jupiter Fund Management.
