Commerz Real, the property subsidiary of Commerzbank, has appointed Florian Obermaier to a role overseeing product management for institutional clients.
Obermaier has joined the company from real estate asset manager BMO Real Estate Partners, now Columbia Threadneedle Investment, where for the past six years he was responsible for the firm's fund and asset management for special assets.
His particular investment focus was on residential properties. Obermaier eventually rose to the position of director fund management. Prior to this he worked as an asset manager at Wertgrund Asset Management.
At Commerz Real, Obermaier will take care of the further development of the firm's product portfolio for institutional investors and the expansion of the mandate business, reporting directly to Siegfried Eschen, a member of the board of managing directors of Commerz Real.
He is also joining the management of Commerz Real Capital Management Company, which within the Commerz Real Group is responsible for the alternative investment funds for professional and semi-professional investors.
