Hanekopf joins from Savills, where he was previously branch manager for the city. The appointment is effective 1 October.

Hanekopf succeeds Jan Weseloh, who will leave Colliers at the end of May to 'pursue new professional goals', according to the property executive.

Said Matthias Leube, CEO of Colliers International: 'In Sascha Hanekopf, we welcome a proven expert with a high level of expertise in the Hanseatic real estate market as the new head of our Hamburg branch. With him, we will drive forward expansion, in close cooperation with our two managing directors Frank-D. Drive Albers and Gordon Beracz.'

Before his time at Savills, real estate economist and engineer Henkopf worked as team leader for acquisitions, sales and letting at Corpus Sireo Asset Management's commercial division in Hamburg.

Added Leube: 'We thank Jan Weseloh for his successful work. He made a significant contribution to the establishment and expansion of the Hamburg location. We wish him all the best for his future career.'
