The Dutch branch of Colliers International is due to announce today that it is acquiring Urban Properties, the Rotterdam-based asset management and property management company.

The company will be incorporated under the Colliers International brand with immediate effect. The company’s three founding directors, Danny van der Kruit, René Mol and Luc Zenden, will join Colliers’ Dutch unit as partners.

Chris McLernon, CEO of Colliers International EMEA said the merger would enable Colliers International to offer its clients asset management, property management and project management services. ‘Demand for these services is growing in the Netherlands and the merger with Urban Properties offers us the possibility to enter this expanding market.’

Jaap van Rhijn, CEO of Colliers International’s Dutch branch, said the merger marked ‘an important step’ in the strategy of Colliers’ business in the Netherlands. ‘It is a logical next step following our merger with Boer Hartog Hooft in 2010, the expansion of our hotels business and EMEA corporate services and the opening of our Rotterdam office in 2011.’

A subsidiary of US-listed FirstService Corporation, Colliers International has 13,500 professionals operating out of 482 offices in 62 countries.
