Colliers International has taken over two local property agents in Frankfurt and Dusseldorf in a boost to its German operations.

The international property adviser said it has acquired controlling interests in Colliers Schon and Lopez Schmitt in Frankfurt and Trombello Kölbel Immobilienconsulting in Dusseldorf. The two agents will be rebranded as Colliers Frankfurt and Colliers Dusseldorf.

Chris McLernon, CEO of EMEA for Colliers International, said consolidating all Colliers International operations in Germany was an important part of the firm’s strategy for Western Europe. ‘Having market leaders in Munich, Stuttgart, Berlin, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf allows us to accelerate our growth locally by having one strong national business in Germany and reinforces our ability to serve clients on a global basis.’

The news come hard on the heels of the announcement that Colliers International has acquired a controlling interest in Urban Properties International Real Estate Management, a leading asset and property management firm in the Netherlands. The terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Colliers International is owned by FirstService Corporation, which generates over $2.3 bn in annual revenues and has more than 23,000 employees worldwide.
