Colliers International has appointed Richard Bruce to the newly created position of director of operations within the firm’s EMEA division.

Bruce joins from global law firm Kennedys where he was responsible for reducing property expenditure by 12%, maximising efficiency through cost savings, integrating corporate acquisitions into the company and overseeing major transformation programmes.

Based in London, Bruce’s new role at Colliers will include a review of the firm’s 110 offices in 42 countries throughout the EMEA region, focusing on change management and integration across all nations and service lines.

Chris McLernon, Colliers International’s CEO for EMEA, commented: ‘It is no secret that Colliers intends to expand organically and through acquisitions within EMEA as well as worldwide. For this reason, we knew we had to have an expert on board to ensure we operate as a well-oiled machine – from office efficiencies, through to best practices and market intelligence sharing. That’s where Richard steps into the picture.

‘His aptitude with working across various countries and markets will be a credit to Colliers. I have every faith that he will play a pivotal role in leading and contributing to our annual regional EMEA priorities and initiatives.’

Bruce will report to McLernon as well as the Colliers EMEA board.

Bruce is the second senior EMEA appointment to be made by Colliers in recent months with Richard Crook joining as head of marketing and business development in January from Savills. He also joins new EMEA head of bids and pitches, Maria Leppard, and EMEA digital marketing executive, Rebecca Lucking, who both joined in March.
