Colliers International has acquired a majority stake in Amsterdam's oldest commercial real estate services firm, Boer Hartog Hooft, growing the Colliers International Dutch operations to 60 professionals. Boer Hartog Hooft will rebrand to Colliers International immediately.
By joining Colliers International, Boer Hartog Hooft becomes part of an international network with 15,000 employees operating out of more than 480 offices in 61 countries and with revenues of nearly $2 bn (EUR 1.47 bn).
'As the Dutch real estate market is anchored in Amsterdam and key to our Netherlands strategy, this new joint venture positions us well for further national expansion,' said Chris McLernon, CEO of Colliers International EMEA.
The tie-up between Colliers and Boer Hartog Hooft comes a week after the announcement that Tony Horrell has been appointed CEO of AIM-listed Colliers International UK with immediate effect. Until the beginning of this year, Horrell was international director and head of Jones Lang LaSalle's Capital Markets group in Europe.
Boer Hartog Hooft will oversee the operations of Colliers International in the Netherlands and the existing Colliers International office in Amsterdam will transfer to the Boer Hartog Hooft offices by the end of the year. The Colliers International Eindhoven office will continue to be managed by the local partner, Jules van Gaalen.
Incorporated in 1893, Boer Hartog Hooft is the oldest commercial real estate brokerage and advisory company in the Amsterdam region. The firm provides a comprehensive range of property services including office, industrial and hotel brokerage, investment services, valuations and consultancy.
