Christie + Co, acting on behalf of Finisterre Holdings, has sold the leasehold interest of the Lord Milner Hotel, the five-star boutique hotel in Central London, to Adrian Gardiner, owner of the Mantis Group, for an undisclosed sum.

Located in the heart of London’s fashionable Belgravia area in Ebury Street, the 11-bedroom Lord Milner Hotel is named after Lord Alfred Milner, 1st Viscount Milner, the controversial German-born British statesman and colonial administrator. Milner, who was appointed High Commissioner for Southern Africa and Governor of Cape Colony in 1897, lived the majority of his later life in the Borough of Westminster.

The Mantis Group currently operates the five-star Draycott Hotel situated between Chelsea and Knightsbridge, which it acquired through Christie + Co in 2007, and a number of game reserves, boutique hotels and retreats throughout South Africa and Europe.

David Creamore, director at Christie + Co, said: 'This deal again highlights that despite the challenging conditions buyers are still in the market for quality, well-located properties at realistic prices.'
