The European arm of US hotel chain Choice Hotels said it planned to more than double the number of hotels it operates in France in the next five years. The company said it wanted to raise the number of hotels in France to 250 from the current 120 by 2011. Choice Hotels France vice president Isabelle Rochelandet said the company would consider working with real estate companies to buy a hotel chain willing to switch to the Choice brand. She said Choice will be focusing on its two-to-three-star Comfort and three-to-four-star Quality brands.
