Cerberus Capital Management has appointed David Abrams as senior managing director of its London-based branch Cerberus UK Advisors.

Cerberus Capital Management has appointed David Abrams as senior managing director of its London-based branch Cerberus UK Advisors.

Abrams joins the company from Apollo Management, where he founded the Apollo European Principal Finance Funds franchise which had €4 bn in assets under management.

Prior to that he was a managing director in the Leveraged Finance Group of Credit Suisse, based in London and New York, where he was head of the speciality finance investment business from 2004 to 2007, investing in non-performing loan portfolios and distressed assets.

Cerberus said Abrams’ role would include expanding the firm’s credit platform and pursuing distressed opportunities in emerging markets, Europe and other sectors of interest.

Mark Neporent, chief operating officer of Cerberus, said: ‘We are thrilled to have added David, whom we have known and worked with for many years. David will enhance our strong European franchise and will help us further capitalize on the deleveraging of European financial institutions.’
