CBRE has rebranded its real estate finance unit as CBRE Capital Advisors.

Commenting on the reorganisation in a webcast, Philip Cropper, managing director of CBRE Capital Advisors, said investors were becoming more agnostic in terms of how to invest in real estate.

'They are not just looking at direct investment, they are looking at the four quadrants of real estate, private and public equity, and public and private debt. Investors need to look at all sectors at the four-quadrant grouping and see where returns will be delivered...Advising clients on sourcing and deploying capital is a global business and as such CBRE has brought all its specialists under one banner globally.'

In the coming year, Cropper expects to see a continuation of the market recovery that set in during 2013 and more demand for real estate on the back of a growing appetite for real assets. He added that real estate will remain an attractive proposition relative to other asset classses such as debt, equities, bonds and gilts given that interest rates are expected to remain relatively low in the coming years. 'We will continue to see large amounts of capital flows heading for real estate on a global basis.'

CBRE's Capital Advisors team provides services to capital managers and operators of real estate assets and businesses on their strategy and capital requirements. Core services include corporate finance, equity placement, investment advisory and strategic asset management. CBRE Capital Advisors is also a facilitator of liquidity in the unlisted real estate funds market via the PropertyMatch platform, Cropper said.

Capital Advisors works in close partnership with CBRE's Debt & Structured Finance team which provides clients with tailored debt solutions, and CBRE Loan Servicing Limited which provides lenders with an independent loan management service.
