CBRE has appointed Johan Elfstadius to the position of managing director of CBRE's Swedish business. Before joining CBRE, Elfstadius was managing director and CEO of Colliers International's Swedish arm. He brings over 10 years of local market knowledge and experience to CBRE's rapidly growing Nordic operations. He will join the company on May 1, 2010.

CBRE first established an office in Sweden in 1999. Today the company has a 40-strong team, based in Stockholm and Gothenburg, providing agency, valuation, capital markets and corporate services to a wide array of clients.

'Johan joins CBRE at a very important time. While Nordic economies such as Sweden have been impacted by the downturn, healthy underlying market fundamentals in key cities such as Stockholm mean that the country will grow strongly once economic conditions allow,' said Mike Strong, chairman of CBRE EMEA.

CBRE Sweden's current managing director, Magnus Ungmark, will remain with the company as head of Business Development, Sweden. In addition to taking on a new local role, Magnus will also work with CBRE's regional team on the ongoing development of the company's broader Nordics platform. Over recent months the company has seen growing cross border success in the Nordics with a number of significant corporate services contract wins, including Nokia and StatoilHydro.
