CBRE Investment Management has appointed Mariana Barrientos as a director in its European private infrastructure markets team.
Barrientos will focus on sourcing, executing and asset managing investments as part of the private infrastructure investment team in London. She will take a lead role in global investments, managing relationships with infrastructure partners and client service.
Barrientos brings more than 10 years of experience in real assets, most recently at Citibank, where she has been vice president in its power, utilities and renewables investment banking division since 2019.
She first joined Citibank in 2013 before being promoted to associate in 2015. Over the course of her career to date, she has overseen €20 bn of assets across more than 20 transactions in 15 countries.
The appointment comes in a period of growth for CBRE Investment Management’s infrastructure capabilities and experience in EMEA. In London the team successfully completed three investments in the past three months, including acquiring two Nordic bus operators (Connect Bus and Torghatten’s bus division), as well as co-investing in a utilities connections business in the UK.
'Mariana brings an impressive track record to our growing team, and we very much look forward to working with her and benefitting from her experience as we build on our position as a leading provider of sustainable real assets solutions,' said Andreas Köttering, head of private infrastructure Europe, CBRE Investment Management.
Barrientos has a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, a Master of Arts in Economics from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from the University of Oklahoma.
