CBRE has appointed John Atkins as head of advisory project management for the EMEA region, based in Frankfurt.

Atkins, who will lead a team of over 1,300 project management professionals, has been charged with driving growth and implementing the firm's global project management strategy.

With more than 25 years' professional experience, Atkins joins CBRE from global design, engineering and management consulting firm Arcadis, where he held several leadership positions, the most recent being global solutions director and leader of programme management.

With an MBA from Henley Management College, Atkins is tri-lingual in English, German and Dutch, having spent most of his 28 years in Europe, residing in Germany.

He succeeds David Hitchcock, who retired last month following a 35-year career with CBRE.
