Marcus Sperber, former head of global real estate at BlackRock, will join CBRE in June as a consultant and chair of the newly created strategic investment advisory board within investment advisory, led by Graeme Rutter and part of capital advisors.
Sperber has over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry. Following a 17-year career with BlackRock, he most recently founded NorthCroft Capital, a real estate investment and advisory business, and holds a number of non-executive roles. Additionally, he has held positions on a number of industry committees.
Graeme Rutter, executive director, head of investment advisory, CBRE commented: 'We are delighted to have Marcus on board to chair our new strategic investment advisory board within investment advisory.
'With his wealth of experience and innovative thinking, Marcus will add an extra dimension to our strategic advisory board to the significant benefit of our clients at CBRE.'
CBRE’s strategic investment advisory board, formerly known as the investment advisory committee, will provide governance across all investment advisory client mandates to review strategy, investment performance and ensure consistency across its client accounts. The group will meet on a quarterly basis.
Sperber added: 'I am delighted to be invited to chair the new strategic investment advisory board within investment advisory.
'This is a unique opportunity for me to use my experience working alongside the exceptional talent that sits within CBRE and help enable long- term and excellent performance for their clients.'
