CBRE Global Multi Manager (GMM) is spearheading an initiative with fund data company Indirex to improve the exchange of key business data between fund managers and investors.
Data collection and consistent documentation can be a challenge: the Global Multi Manager team at CBRE Global Investors has over 150 investments in unlisted real estate funds and working relationships with more than 100 investment managers.
For that reason, CBRE GMM is working with Indirex to build the first investor focused secure information exchange network, which they will use to stimulate the centralisation and standardisation of information delivery.
Dugal Hunt, director and fund manager at CBRE GMM said, 'We believe that significant efficiency gains can be achieved by having a single industry reporting point which can be used by the majority of our fund managers, to communicate and distribute important fund documentation. We are very confident that this initiative will benefit both investors and their fund managers.'
Cameron McVean, at Indirex, added, 'Our aim is to have 100 funds delivering information to CBRE Global Multi Manager and to be supporting a broader cohort of international investors in similar undertakings by Christmas 2012.'
