CBRE Global Investors has confirmed that three directors are leaving to join a new UK-based real estate fund management business.

Giles King, head of investor services EMEA, Simon Farnsworth, head of funds UK, and senior director Ian Harris will leave CBRE Global Investors after a handover period.

They are joining Westmount Real Estate, a fund management business being established by Simon Smith, former managing director of the UK business of European retail property investor Redevco.

King has over 25 years’ experience in UK commercial property and has been with CBRE Global Investors for 17 years, running the UK business from 2008 to 2011. For the past two years he led the investors services team for EMEA and is a member of the EMEA executive board.

Commenting on King’s departure, Pieter Hendrikse, chief executive officer for EMEA, said: 'We are very sorry that Giles is leaving, but I understand his reasoning and wish him well with the new venture. We have built a strong platform for our capital raising and investor services activities, and within the transition plans we will look to further utilise the depth of experience we already have within the team.'

Farnsworth and Harris have been with the company for nine and eight years respectively, and both work in the funds team in the UK. Farnsworth sits on the UK executive board.
