CBRE Global Investors has appointed John Mulqueen to the newly created position of head of transactions for the EMEA region.

He will lead the team of transactions managers across the EMEA region and oversee its strategy for deal sourcing, acquisitions and disposals, as well as maintaining key market relationships.

Mulqueen has worked for CBRE GI for the past 18 months as head of Value Add UK, a role which involved establishing relationships with international investors.

Prior to CBRE GI, he spent 10 years at UK REIT Hammerson. As London group director, he and his team were responsible for the company's £1.6 bn Central London office portfolio. Hammerson sold off the portfolio in 2013-2014 to concentrate on retail property.

Mulqueen will chair the EMEA transaction meetings and report to Sophie van Oosterom, CIO for the EMEA region.
